![]() The safe code was probably the most infuriating part for me - the clue was vague, but i was like "ok, surely this is enough information to go off of," and then i bumbled about the tavern for like an hour trying to figure out how whiskey, mugs, and dreams were related to the puzzle at all. I was completely stuck on every puzzle because every single solution is either A: hidden in a dumb tiny corner (attic switch, that one key on the shelf behind the bar), or B: uncomfortably close to the GIANT GOAT MONSTER who WILL KILL YOU (safe code, that one key again, the key that's literally ON the goat) Originally posted by ya boi:I will say I'm a little frustrated with this part, The level design and setting are amazing and scary at first, but after dying several times to the monster that fear wore off and I just became frustrated as I had no clue what to do, (etcetera etcetera)Īgreed, the tavern was cool at first but it just made me feel really stupid the more i played it granted i'm not a game designer so there's probably some rationality I'm not thinking of. I feel that introducing the shotgun in this way is not the best as it does not allow the player to understand its power. also I have not figured out a way to kill it, which is my second problem, I'm fine with the monster being big and tanky but THIS is the part where you introduce the shotgun, and shooting the monster with it feels like throwing pebbles as a bull, it stuns him initially but that maybe lasts a second whereas for most other enemies it's a one shot kill. I don't know what could have been changed for that to be different. It's also insanely hard to hide from the monster and you might as well pause and reload your last save if it sees you. I will say I'm a little frustrated with this part, The level design and setting are amazing and scary at first, but after dying several times to the monster that fear wore off and I just became frustrated as I had no clue what to do, any attempt I made would either be pointless or lead to me dying, there's very little to help guide you along other than a note that talks about the attic and a safe, which either requires you to use a switch that's practically hidden or use a key that's tucked behind a shelf that you may not look. That's all I can think of right now, I'm also tired so if I forgot anything just mention it Once you have the basement key and a clear path, wait for the monster to be as far away as his move pattern allows, then make a run for it, unlock the door and just book it. you may want to break the barricade prior to going up the elevator. you will enter a room that's been boarded up I recommend this room last and to spend as little time there as possible. (entering the side rooms or entering the basement.) on the far wall next to the bear traps there's a door frame that will take you down into the basement using the key. I also recommend doing this before you activate any of the creatures roaming patterns. The key on the monsters back will let you into the basement, I recommend hiding under a table and waiting for the monster to pause before taking the key then hiding again. whiskey is 25 cents and whales ale is 5 cents - 255 that is the code to the safe which has a key to the gun cabinet with the shotgun, that way you don't have to smash the glass. ![]() going into the main room with the monster (which should be roaming the side rooms now) above the counter there will be a sign with prices for drinks. The note tells you about whiskey and whales. that will take you to a room with the shotgun and safe. ![]() you can find a hatch in the attic that after flipping a switch next to it will open. in the attic you can find a key as well, I forget what that one goes to. flipping it will cause the attic stairs to drop down. If you stay in the room with the staircase you can find a switch on the wall, it is hidden behind a pillar. ![]() When you initially go up the stairs you can enter the room with the monster and behind the counter you can find a key that goes to the rooms on the side, the key is to the left of the shelf on the wall ![]() I eventually figured it out, for those who find this post looking for answers. ![]()
